Urine MSU is mid-stream urine. It is sterile urine that is collected from the bladder by urination, but collecting the urine mid-stream, while voiding (semasa tengah kencing). There is a device (Peezy MSU) for collecting mid-stream urine, but it is not a necessary device.

Peezy MSU may not be necessary but is definitely recommended. An accurate sample means an accurate diagnosis. Even if they are collected effectively (and that is not easily or hygienically done) MSU samples are often contaminated before they get to the lab. Anywhere from 15-40% of samples cannot supply an accurate reading and so broad-spectrum antibiotics are prescribed. For good patient care, it is better to know what one is dealing with. Keep up the good work.
