Treacher Collins Syndrome (TCS)

In TCS, a Caucasian girl aged 5 had no face. She has 2 eyes, but they are wide apart, and almost falling off her face. She has a mouth but not a normal one with lips. Her gums and teeth stick out of her mouth. Her teeth do not grow nicely. Her tongue is round and big, and sticks out. Her ears are small and deformed (microtia). Her developmental milestones and movements are normal. She has undergone 26 surgical facial reconstructions in her first 5 years of life. The doctors created a face for her. Her cheeks were added on later, but the surgical flap for her left cheek had to be removed as it became inflammed.
