Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA)

MPA is petechiae on the skin. We notice it as a big bruise of red-blue patches on the skin, that come and go. It took a long time to fade away. It can appear in the morning and disappear at night. It can recur after many days. It signals an underlying deep inflammation of the soft tissue. Due to some immune reactions - leucocytes (white blood cells, WBC) attack the capillaries, causing them to burst and bleeding into the tissues occur, resulting in such skin colours. The patches are painful and cause excruciating pain in affected patients. They can't walk upstairs or do normal housework. They have an odd sensation in their legs. Their arms and legs feel heavy. MRI reveals hemorrhage in deep tissues.
