Relief for joint pain

Joint pain results from wear and tear of the joints, especially the knee, in elderly and in heavy people. Pain in the knees can prevent them from walking, climbing stairs, going downstairs, running, kicking and praying. Pain in the knees can prevent them from an active life. They find it difficult to shift position or to get out of bed. Sometimes the joints are sore and pain can be excruciating.

What is the relief for joint pain?

Technology of aqueous emulsions has helped us to make emulsions for transdermal appplications. An effective and quick pain relief for joint pain is the prep made by Gellert.

Gellert Joint Care Transdermal Glucosamine Cream is available at most shops and pharmacies.

In Chinese it is called Hung Lung (hoong loong).

The cream contains glucosamine, omega fatty acids and vitamin C.

Glucosamine comes from the shells (carapace) of sea creatures - prawns, crabs, lobsters, etc. Glucosamine is extracted from the shells of sea creatures. This can be done by drying the cleaned shells and then grinding them to a powder. Then impurities or unwanted non glucosamine stuff are removed by further processing.

The emulsion is made from omega fatty acids and water by ultrasonication. Omega fatty acids are obtained from deep sea fish and also olive oil, peanut oil, sesame seed oil, sunflower seed oil, any seed oil.

Vitamin C is added as an antioxidant, so oxygen is kept out and the molecules contained do not breakdown before they reach the site of action (tissue or knee, etc).

The cream does not need prescription and can be purchased anywhere, usually at hotel shops. I have used the cream myself. It is better to use this cream than not doing anything about a painful knee or knees.

Dentistry

Dentistry has become one of the most interesting fields in the healthcare services sector. There are many new materials and techniques which have been developed for use in modern dentistry. Nowadays, even ugly teeth can be repaired to look nice. Even missing teeth can be made and added to fill in the gaps and remove an ugly smile with missing teeth.

I would suggest prospective students to try and take up dentistry as it has become a good field to study and to work in. Studying dentistry overseas is a good thing as the institutions are more established and the # and hours of practicals seem sufficient.

Australia has good dental programmes. USA has good dental services & clinics. Most of the private clinics are good. In California, they do very good crowns which last a lifetime (crowns usually last a few years). It will be good to obtain sufficient exposure from many dental practices and then open a dental practice or work at a dental clinic in a large hospital or a small district hospital. The place of work should not matter, only the skills should matter. It is better to learn all the skills and then get to work rather than the other way round.

Teenage Obesity and Weight Loss Treatments

Our grandmothers and mothers cooked. However, mothers today do not cook anymore or only cook on weekends. What does the family eat? Food is abundant and is sold everywhere. Food can be easily bought today.

Children today have excessive food intakes and become obese teenagers, and later obese adults. What is wrong with our society today? Why are we breeding fat kids, fat teenagers, fat adults, fatty people? What is wrong with our food habits? What is wrong with our attitude towards food? Are we becoming human rubbish bins?

Are there ways of reducing obesity? Do weight loss programs work all the time and for everyone?

Are there surgical means of weight loss?

Sibutramine

Sibutramine (usually in the form of the hydrochloride monohydrate salt) is an oral anorexiant.

Until 2010 it was marketed and prescribed as an adjunct in the treatment of exogenous obesity along with diet and exercise.

It has been associated with increased cardiovascular events and strokes and has been withdrawn from the market in countries and regions including Australia, Canada, China, the European Union (EU), Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Thailand, the UK, and the United States.

Sibutramine is a centrally-acting serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor structurally related to amphetamines, although its mechanism of action is distinct.

Sibutramine was originally developed and marketed by Knoll Pharmaceuticals and was most recently manufactured and marketed by Abbott Laboratories before its withdrawal from the market.

It was sold under a variety of brand names including Reductil, Meridia and Sibutrex.

It is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States.
